In Colombia, criminal organizations use different methods to recruit vulnerable young people, based on socioeconomic and emotional risk factors, through recruitment via social networks and persuasion tactics ranging from material promises to coercion and violence.
In this regard, key vulnerabilities are analyzed, such as poverty, lack of opportunities, and violent environments; in addition to recruitment channels, including personal contacts and digital platforms. Strategies of indoctrination, manipulation, and immersion in the organization's culture are also examined, including isolation, rituals, and violence used to exert control.
