The digital age gives rise to a wide range of alternatives, with digital crime being the result of their misuse. The main purpose of this research article is to analyze in depth the phenomenon of phishing, one of the most far-reaching and large-scale modalities today, as well as the link between it and the phenomenon of organized crime. Massive attacks are increasingly carried out on a large scale with the aim of maximizing economic benefit through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). In addition, a criminological study of online security is presented to analyze the susceptibility of being a victim of digital crime, considering different elements, such as age, level of digital culture, adoption of online security measures or perception about ICT. Finally, a section of conclusions is presented to summarize the findings and results, as well as to propose future lines of research.
